Do you like animals? Yeah, you just have arrived at the exact place to explore
the Zoological Park which also provides you with the jungle safari. A great place
to see wild animals in one location. It helps to get the right perspective of many
wild animals. This zoo is one of the largest ones in India and has a large
collection of animals. It is a great site to visit when in Hyderabad, especially
educational to your kids.
Visit the Hussain Sagar lake or Tank Bund:
This place is a sight for your eyes, with the tall standing statue of Buddha in the
center of the large lake. Hussain Sagar Lake also called Tank Bund is a man-
made lake in between the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
Originally a drinking water resource which was made in 1563, it had decayed
badly before the 1980s.
Thanks to funding from Japan and beautification by the government led by N.T
Rama Rao, this lake area was renovated and beautified with statues and parks
to its current shape. Many new facilities like the necklace road, Lumbini park,
water fountains and NTR gardens were added in the 1990s to get the lake its
current beautiful appearance. This is quite a large lake and a drive around its
shore is over 9 kilometers. Tank bunds calm waters and the tranquillity all over
the lake mesmerizes you and takes your mind to the whole new level of
contentment.
Take a heritage walk in the old city:
Through the lanes of the old city of Hyderabad, you can visit the many
locations in the old city. Charminar, a four minaret structure made with
limestone was built about 400 years ago. Charminar is the landmark of the old
city of Hyderabad where time seems to have frozen a couple of centuries back.
A good place to experience a medieval environment with congested roads,
loud, bustly crowds with cramped space. Even Charminar appears taller
because you need to see it from so close, as there is not much space in this
cramped area with a very dense population.
In the vicinity of the Charminar area, you can find the famous Laad Bazaar
famous for its cheap bangles which are liked by some people but not so
popular with locals. Close by this area is also the Salar Jung Museum with its
many antique items collected by an aristocrat. Compare it with the life
struggles of the peasant and labor, this antique collection gives the contrast in
the lives of ordinary people and the ruling elite during the 18th century.
Visit the IKEA store:
In modern Hyderabad, you will find the very first store of the Swedish
Company, IKEA. IKEA presents you with the range of thousands of home
furnishing items to choose from. The amazing food items available in the IKEA
will make you a fan of Swedish meatballs.
Do pearl shopping:
For many tourists, a trip to Hyderabad city is incomplete without some pearl
shopping. Famous for its processing of pearls, there are artisans in Hyderabad
and in some closeby villages who are involved with the processing of pearls
into beautiful ornaments. Long back these pearl jewelry shops were found only
around Charminar but now their branches with better ambiance, jewelry
collection and facilities are found around the city in Abids, Basheerbagh,
Somajiguda and Jubilee Hills.
Visit Durgam Cheruvu lake:
Durgam Cheruvu is also known as Raidurgam Cheruvu. It is a very interesting
lake that is surrounded by hills on all sides, so finding this lake after crossing
hills is a very amazing experience. Originally called the sacred lake being
named after a Hindu Goddess, this is not more commonly referred to as the
secret lake. Durgam Cheruvu area has a surprise for you if you are new to
Hyderabad. It locates a secret lake which is a freshwater lake in it which
attracts many nature-loving tourists towards it. Don’t miss the view of this lake
from the Inorbit mall, you can get some great views. There is a park on the side
of Madhapur and a new cable bridge across the lake has further beautified this
region.
Ride the elevated metro train:
Hyderabad has the 2nd largest metro network in India. Constructed at a height
of 60 feet above the ground, it offers a great overview of the city. Don’t miss a
ride on the metro. With its air-conditioned comfort, large glass windows and
fast speed you can get a good idea of the vastness of Hyderabad and the
beauty of its many structures by taking a ride of the metro.
Undoubtedly, Hyderabad is a great place to visit in your lifetime and a great
location to move in if you are planning to relocate. From historical places to
modern avenues of amusement, the city of Hyderabad gives you everything
