Hyderabad is 5th largest city in India and well-known worldwide for its 
offshoring. Hyderabad is the capital of the latest state of India, Telangana state. 
Telugu is the regional language of Telangana. Hyderabad was a sleepy city 
known for its defence scientific organizations before it became a hub for IT 
outsourcing.
Before Indian independence, a dynasty called Nizams under British rule and 
protection. This kingdom held territory over 3 states of current India which had 
different south Indian local languages, while the Nizam’s administrators came 
from North India. This caused the development of cosmopolitan culture in the 
capital city, which is now called the old city.  But lack of development and 
progress in this part of the city has seen many of the original inhabitants leave 
to other parts of the Hyderabad city.
Hyderabad is becoming the IT hub for major multinationals like Amazon, 
Qualcomm, Google and so on. In the 80s, Hyderabad started developing as a 
bulk drug manufacturing hub and several large pharma companies are located 
here.
Location:
The location of Hyderabad is a unique selling point of this city, centrally located 
in India, it is easily accessible from anywhere in India when it is compared to 
Delhi, Mumbai or Bengaluru, other cities of India. It is not located in the far 
South or far North like Chennai and Delhi respectively. Hyderabad is located on 
the Musi River, a tributary of Krishna River which it joins at Vadepally in 
Nalgonda district.
Second Silicon Valley of India:
Bengaluru is known as the silicon valley of India for its IT services, but 
Hyderabad is expanding its wings in the service and IT sector to become the 
second silicon valley of India. Hyderabad is providing plenty of opportunities to 
the software engineers, entrepreneurs and software companies to explore the 
depth of the IT sector.

Hyderabad is known for its educational facilities. At the state level, there is the 
Osmania University and JNTU Hyderabad. Central level educational institutions 
in Hyderabad include the University of Hyderabad, IIIT- Gachibowli,  IIT- 
Hyderabad and NALSAR.  Also, many private educational institutions like BITS, 
ICFAI, Narsee Monjee, GITAM University and KLU among others are located 
around Hyderabad. Hyderabad is going leaps and bounds as an education 
center.
