What Is
Employee State Insurance?
Employee State Insurance is a social security and 
health insurance plan which has been created to 
provide social economic protection and medical care 
to worker populations and their dependents who 
are covered under scheme. It is applicable on 
entities employing 10 or more people.
It is Applicable on all employees who are earning 
INR 21,000 or less per month as wages, ESI 
Scheme is financed by contributions from 
employers (4.75%) and employees (1.75%), large 
network of dispensaries, and hospitals throughout 
the country are registered in ESI scheme for 
facilitating fast and efficient medical care.
