Overview
It is said that a Physiotherapist has the brain of a scientist, the heart of a humanist 
and the hand of an artist.
Physiotherapy is a medical profession which attempts to treat diseases, deformities 
or injuries by physical methods such as exercises, heat treatment, and massages 
and more instead of the surgeries or drugs. The treatment basically focuses on 
physical therapy.
It is concerned with the analysis, preservation and restoration of the performance 
and the physical function of the human body. This field is very different from the 
other types of medical management. The concurrence of physiotherapy along with 
the other medical or surgical techniques helps in better treatment and facilitates 
speedy recovery of the given medical condition.
Bachelor of Physiotherapy Course 
Duration:
Physiotherapy is an undergraduate medical course which is 
offered for a duration of 4 ½ years including a 6 month 
internship period. This course follows the semester system of 
examination.Distance mode education is not suitable because 
this is a practical course which requires a one to one contact 
experience with the patients ailing from different injuries and 
medical conditions.
Bachelor of Physiotherapy Eligibility 
Criteria:
• The candidate should be at least 17 years of age at the time of admission.
• In order to pursue (BPT) Bachelor of Physiotherapy, the applicants must have 
completed the 12th class/ Pre-university level of education (10+2) with an 
aggregate of 50% marks from a recognized board. (exceptions for different 
universities)
• The candidates should have pursued Physics, chemistry and biology in their 
pre-university/12th grade.
• The admission of BPT is mainly based on the CET (common entrance test) 
scores. However few of the universities have their own entrance exams.
