In Australia CPEng status is given by Engineers
Australia.

Way To Become 
CPEng
The most common way to become
a  Professional Engineer is to get a  
four- year (BE) engineering degree  
and work as a BE graduate. After
getting five or six years of work  
experience, one can demonstrate  
competence as a Professional  
Engineer and can gain registration as 
 a Chartered Professional Engineer  
(CPEng registration).
