Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Haya Akbik is a graduate of 
the University of Michigan. She holds a Dual Major in 
Political Science and International Studies and achieved an 
impressive 3.7 GPA. Haya Akbik has Syrian parents and is a 
contractor with the Syrian American Council as a Project 
Coordinator, which is headquartered in Washington, D.C. 
Haya Akbik champions an advocacy project with a network 
of global partners to promote the rebuilding of Syria.
Fight For Democracy In Syria
Haya Akbik is bilingual in English and Arabic and also 
proficient in French. She likes to give back to society 
and has been on a humanitarian mission trip to Syrian 
refugee camps in Amman, Jordan with Atlantic 
Humanitarian Relief. Haya Akbik is the current Project 
Coordinator with the Syrian American Council. In this 
role, Haya Akbik works hard to ensure global awareness 
of the fight for Democracy in Syria and to help the 
rebuilding process that is happening in the country.
Worked With Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff
Haya Akbik recently graduated the University of 
Michigan. She left the institution with two bachelor's 
degrees. She is qualified in political science and 
international studies. Haya Akbik is an experienced 
campaign staffer who worked closely with Peters for 
Michigan. She also worked with Georgia Senator Jon 
Ossoff. She has a deep-rooted interested in public 
policy and is keen to develop her knowledge of 
foreign affairs. Haya Akbik adores Frank Sinatra and 
considers him to be the greatest artist of all time.
Public Policy Fraternity
Haya Akbik is a graduate of the University of 
Michigan. While in college, she was a 
member of the Kappa Omega Alpha: Pre-Law 
and Public Policy Fraternity. Haya Akbik took 
this role seriously and would attend weekly 
meetings to liaise with relevant organizations 
and individuals. She worked closely with 
the Neighbors Building Brightmoor charity.
