• Call transmission in VoIP is through the internet.

• In 1995, Vocal Tec was the first company to start using VoIP.
• They presented their first VoIP phone named “Internet Phone”.  
• Gradual evolution brought out internet voicemail application, 
calling from computer to telephone via VoIP, advanced software 
and more. 
There are 2 types of VoIP Phones:
• Hardware-based VoIP Phones: They resemble the traditional hard-
wired or cordless telephones. These were used mainly for audio 
calls.
 
• Software-based VoIP Phones: These are simple software. Installing 
the software in the user’s computer or mobile device enables VoIP 
Calls from the device.
• A mobile dialer, is an application or an app.
• This app enables VoIP calls from one’s mobile phone. 
• The present generation mobile dialers have all the latest features. 
• Addition of latest features and regular updates help the dialer to 
function properly.
