Pre Terminated
Fiber Solutions?
INTRODUCTION
Today’s modern data center proposition continues to promote
the hot topics around consolidation, reduced operating expense,
flexibility, scalability and of course being as ‘Green’ as possible
along the way.
When you are building a custom fiber network it is essential to
purchase quality cable assemblies. Never waste time or money
terminating fiber cable in the field again. Save yourself and your
team lot of time and trouble, and eliminate all performance
worries with Pre Terminated Fiber Cable from FalconTech. You’ll
get top-quality fiber cable that’s built to your exact specs, fully
tested, and shipped ready for installation so you can take care of
business. Below you will find information on standard options
and components available for Pre Terminated Fiber Optic Cable
assemblies.
PRE TERMINATED FIBER OPTIC CABLE :
A Pre Terminated Fiber optic cabling system is one that
contains cables and the necessary modular components with the
accompanying connectors already attached. For optimum quality
assurance, each part of the system is tested before it is shipped
to the customer. A pre terminated fiber optic cabling system
may contain any of the following, depending on the customer’s
needs:
Comes with a Swivel Pulling Eye :
A swivel pulling eye is attached to protect against stresses
associated with pulling the fiber optic assembly into position
during installation. The pulling eye acts as a strain relief by
distributing the stress over the outer jacket and eliminating it
from the fiber optic strands.

Comes on a Triple Flange Spool :
Long preterminated fiber optic assemblies are shipped on a

both ends. The additional flange also allows the end of the

twisting and tangling while the cable is run out. The inner end
can then be unwound and connected.
Direct Burial :
Direct-Buried Cable (DBC) is designed to be buried under the
ground without any additional covering, conduit or sheathing to
protect it. This Outside Plant (OSP) fiber optic cable includes
water-blocking characteristics and an armored jacket to prevent
damage from rodents and the pressure created by the
surrounding dirt and rock.
Interlocking Armor :
Fiber optic distribution cable encased in interlocking aluminum
armor is ideally suited for harsh environments such as direct
buried outside plant applications, industrial and heavy traffic
areas, and data centers where cables are installed under the
floor.

Indoor/Outdoor :
Indoor/Outdoor cable (I/O cable) is designed to withstand the environmental conditions experienced

CABLE :
Aerial Cable :
Aerial rated cable is strong enough to withstand the tension between structures through the incorporation
of a strengthening feature such as a messenger cable or a central strength member.
Tini Armor Uni-Boot :
This cable option features fiber optic cable encased in a small
OD stainless steel miniature armor. The 3mm outside diameter is
more than 65% smaller and 75% lighter than standard
interlocking armor and still maintains flexibility. The coiled armor
offers protection and durability and may eliminate the need for
conduit.
Plenum / PVC :
The plenum options include OFNP (Optical Fiber Nonconductive
Plenum) and OFCP both of which have the fire-resistant and low smoke
producing characteristics needed to meet The NEC requirements for
cabling installed in a plenum space and not residing in conduit.
AVAILABLE CABLE TYPES :
PRE TERMINATED FIBER OPTIC
CABLE :
Now you can install your own fiber optic cables without
investing in training and equipment. Custom Factory
terminated, pre-tested and ready to pull. Made to lengths
of up to 5000 feet. These assemblies can be ordered in
either indoor or outdoor variations, and in 6, 12 or 24
strand fiber counts, in Multimode OM1, OM2, OS2, OM3
and OM4 or Singlemode!
OM1 -- Falcon Technologies’
preterminated multimode OM1 fiber optic
distribution assemblies utilize 62.5 micron
Corning glass in a tight buffer design.
These trunk cables provide a high speed
infrastructure backbone pathway available
in indoor/outdoor plenum (OFNP) and riser
(OFNR); armored and non-armored.

AVAILABLE CABLE TYPES :
OM3/OM4 -- Falcon Technologies’ preterminated multimode OM3 and OM4 fiber optic
distribution assemblies utilize 50 micron Corning glass in a tight buffer design. These 10 Gigabit,
laser optimzed trunk cables provide a high speed infrastructure backbone pathway available in
indoor/outdoor plenum (OFNP) and riser (OFNR); armored and non-armored.
OS2 -- Falcon Technologies’ preterminated singlemode OS2 fiber optic distribution assemblies
utilize 8.3 micron (sometimes seen as 9 micron in the nomenclature) Corning glass in a tight
buffer design. These trunk cables provide a high speed infrastructure backbone in a long distance
pathway available in indoor/outdoor plenum (OFNP) and riser (OFNR); armored and non-armored.
