                     Can teachers become career counsellors? 
Career counselling is a process of discussions and 
conversations between a counsellor and a counselee during 
which the former analyses the interests, skills and aspirations 
of the latter, clears confusion, and understands and evaluates 
the latter’s decisions to help set a well-defined career path.
Importance of a career counsellor
A career counselor helps students to understand and evaluate their future career plans. 
A counselor can help students set a proper plan and give directions into achieving that 
plan. Students should not assume and choose something which they later regret, 
therefore education institutions should always have a counsellor who is there to help 
students. 
For this reason schools should have a career counseling expert. Teachers could easily 
take up this role, if given proper training. Schools can opt for a 
holistic teacher training program into training their teachers and making them a career 
counselor.
