Controversy 
The movie was questionable during production. Several Rajput 

caste organisations including Shri Rajput Karni Sena were 

against releasing the movie. The people had protested that 

Padmavati, a Rajput queen, was shown in a bad light. They'd 

also assaulted Bhansali around the film set. The Sena had 

made further threats of violence. While filming a scene in Masai

Plateau, Kolhapur throughout the night in October 2017, lots of 

people attacked and hang up the set ablaze, injuring creatures 

and destroying several costumes. Several Muslim leaders 

protested in the alleged misrepresentation of Khilji and referred 

to ban the Movie.


Story 
of 
Padmavati


Padmavati was Sinhala Princess.The princess 
Padmavati by mistake accidentally wounds the 
Rajput ruler Maharawal Ratan Singh,while
hunting inside a forest for any deer.She takes 
him together with her and treats him,King was 
travelling to Sinhala to get rare pearls for his first 
wife Nagmati. After some days they fall madly in 
love with each other. Ratan Singh requests 
Padmavati's for marriage,and after sometime 
they were married.


Sen.Raghav Chetan, a Brahmin who wants to 
take revenge from King Ratan Sen and that’s 
why he reached Alauddin Khalji, the sultan of 
Delhi and did so many praises for Rani 
Padmavati’s beauty that Sulatn wants to get 
Padmavati only.
When Alauddin attacked Chittor and the King 
also died than Padmavati no decided to perform 
sati (Jauhar) with all the ladies.


Beautiful Ghoomer Dance

The very beautiful dance done by Deepika
Padukone in the movie was very much 
appreciated. The dance form was “Ghoomer” 
which is a Rajasthani traditional folk dance. It not 
very easy dance form as Deepika had done so 
many retakes for this. The dance by Deepika was 
so beautifully done and choreographed that it has 
made a significance in Bollywood.
