Drought is defined as an “abnormally dry climate, which causes severe hydrological imbalances in the affected area due to water scarcity.” – Meteorology of Meteorology (1959). The conditions are easy to understand, and drought is a period of unusually dry weather that can cause serious problems such as crop failure and/or lack of water supply.
