About IIT :
 The Varanasi (IIT BHU) Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) is a public 
engineering institution situated in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Established as the 
Banaras Engineering College in 1919, it became the Institute of Technology, 
Banaras Hindu University in 1968. The college ranks 11th in the Engineering 
category of NIRF 2020 and 26th in the overall classification. There are 14 
divisions and three inter-disciplinary schools at IIT BHU Varanasi. IIT BHU 
admission is solely dependent on the JEE Advanced, GATE, or GPAT ranks 
received. IIT BHU has collaborated several times with Cambridge University (UK), 
Oxford University (UK), Sheffield University (UK) (UK). It offers undergraduate, 
postgraduate, and doctorate courses.
 
 
USP - IIT :
The training and placement cell of the Institute has several activities such as pre-
placement talks, expert talks, mock interviews, seminars, and more.
IIT BHU offers Merit-cum-Means scholarships to 25% of undergraduate students. 
Besides, there are several endowment scholarships provided by the Institute.
It is known as the largest residential institute in Asia. 
Over 30,000 students from all over India and 65 foreign countries are enrolled in 
the university’s faculties. 
The university has 76 hostels, which have nearly 15000 inmates.
