Temple of Artemis
• It was built in the sixth century B.C. in Ephesus, Turkey.
• It was built to respect Artemis, the Greek goddess of the chase, this temple was
said to have housed numerous show-stoppers.
COLOSSUS OF RHODES
• Colossus of Rhodes was a Greek sun-god Helios, erected in the city of
Rhodes built in the 4th century B.C. on the island of Rhodes in the
Mediterranean sea.
• Its height is 33.5-meter.
Sigiriya Rock Fortress, Sri Lanka
Sigiriya is one of the most valuable historical
monuments of Sri Lanka.
Sigiriya rock, formed from magma of an extinct
volcano, and this is 200 meters higher than the
surrounding jungles and 370 meters above the
sea level.
In the old days, it was so polished that the king
could see his reflection in it.
HANGING GARDENS OF
BABYLON
• It is located in the state of Babylon i.e. modern Iraq.
• It was built around 600 B.C. which was destroyed by an earthquake in
the 2nd century B.C.
• It was made of mud brick waterproof lead.
THE PYRAMIDS OF GIZA

renowned pyramids and their
entombment landmarks was worked
during 2550 B.C. to 2490 B.C.
They can be visited in Egypt's old
kingdom.
LIGHTHOUSE OF ALEXANDRIA
It was built on the island of Pharos
outside the harbors of Alexandria, Egypt
c. 300 - 280 B.C.
Alexandria in Egypt was founded by
Alexander the Great in 331 B.C.
The Interesting fact about the
Lighthouse of Alexandria is it might have
been a much-copied veritable wonder.
TOWER OF HERCULES
Tower of Hercules is located in the city of
Corunna, the northwestern side of Spain
and 180ft tall.
Though it is not Spain's best-known
landmark to the world outside, yet it is
unquestionably worth a visit.
This is an example from Greco-Roman
antiquity that still boasts of structural
integrity.
Leshan Giant Buddha, China
This monument is a 71m tall single stone statue.
It is carved out of a cliff face of red bed sandstones which lie at
Min and Dadu River in the southern part of China in the city of
Leshan.
It was constructed during the Tang Dynasty.
Chand Baori, India
This is a well which was established around the 9th and 10th
centuries
It is approximately 13 storeyed deep down to earth.
It is not even known to most of the Indians and of course less
known to international tourists.
