Setting up an HP Deskjet 3700 series printer is quite simple if you know the correct procedure. Go
through this page for detailed instructions about the printer setup.
Unboxing:
To begin with, unpack the printer from the package and take out the box contents without damaging
any parts. Once you are done with unpacking, remove the protective tapes and covers from the printer
because leaving them inside the printer may lead to printing or scanning issues.
Connecting printer to the power supply:
When your printer is ready, connect the supplied power cord to its rear port. Next, connect the other
end of the power cord to an electrical outlet and power on the printer. Avoid connecting the USB
cable to your printer before installing the printer software.
Installing the ink cartridges:
While setting up the HP Deskjet 3700 series printer, you should install the ink cartridges. You can
insert two FINE ink cartridges (Black and Color). Begin the ink cartridge installation by opening the
ink cartridge access door and wait for the carriage to stop moving. Remove the plastic seals from the
ink cartridges before installing them into the carriage and avoid touching the copper-colored parts to
prevent poor print quality. The color ink cartridge should be installed on the left and the black ink
cartridge on the right. Remember to close the access door after installing the cartridges.
Loading print media:
This step should be started after the ink initialization process. Raise the paper input tray and its
extender for loading the paper stack. To avoid any paper jam issue in the future, fan the paper stack
before loading it into the tray. Once you have done loading the print media, open the paper output tray
and tray extender from the printer.
Installing the printer software:
To finish setting up the HP Deskjet 3700 series printer, you have to install the printer
software on your computer. Use the supplied CD-ROM to run the driver installation wizard and
complete the process by following the on-screen prompts. When prompted to connect your printer and
computer, plug the USB cable into the ports on your devices. The connection part is now complete.
You can start printing/scanning from your computer.
