behalf of the Commission on University Grants (UGC). UGC NET determines 
whether candidates are eligible to become Assistant Professors or Junior Research 
Fellowships and Assistant Professors.

NTA UGC NET Dec 2019 Result Cut Off – Analyze Your Result!
To qualify the UGC NET exam, candidates have to score minimum marks which are 
as follow –
General Category Candidates – 40% marks in both papers, Paper-1 & Paper-2 
jointly.
Reserved Category Candidates – 35% marks in both papers, Paper-1 & Paper-2 
jointly.

A list of merits in the subject and category will be drawn for those candidates who 
meet the cut-off scores. The merit list is drawn up using the total number of 
candidates in both papers.
The merit list will be drawn subject wise and category wise for those candidates 
who meet the cut-off scores. Merit list will be prepared by using the aggregate 
scores of candidates in both papers i.e. Paper 1 & Paper 2.
Top 6 percent of applicants are declared eligible only for the assistant professor.

Separate merit list will be drawn up for NET for Junior Research Fellowship from 
amongst 15% UGC NET qualifiers.
