INTRODUCTION
The Hindu (Sanatan Dharma) belief is that those who visit Trimbakeshwar attain salvation or Moksha. It is 
considered very auspicious to many other Hindu temples. This Temple is most convenient and essential for 
this particular Ritual. It is believed that this place is the origin of the Godavari River, which depicts birth after 
the end, which is easy. Shradha also makes it easier to attend salvation after death.

TRIPINDI SHARDH VIDHI
Usually, when a middle or old age human is passed away, people do their Pind Daan, Shardha, and other 
rituals, but when people at a young age, passed away, then not all the rituals are done correctly. Which 
further causes their soul to being human bondage and drives issues to us; hence Tripindi Shardha is to be 
done to set those souls free and attain their way to heaven.
It is essential to do Shradha every year on their death anniversaries along with familiar Shardha has to be 
done in the month of Bhadrapad "Pitrupaksh," which is known as "Samvatsarik Shardha" and "Mahalaya 
Shardha.“
Suppose either of these Shradha is not performed continuously for three continuous years. In that case, it 
causes Shardha loop that causes pain and problems to our forefathers' souls in our present lives as 
predecessor expect Moksha through us, which is known as Pitrudosh. And Tripindi Shardha is one way to 
get rid of this dosha, as specified in ancient scriptures.
The person whose birth chart (Kundali) has this kind of dosha has to perform Tripindi Shradha for his 
ancestor's Moksha. Either married or unmarried people can do this right. An only a single woman cannot do 
Tripindi Shardha.
Duration: This Pooja can take 2-3 hours to complete.

As per the Garuda Purana, after 13 days from the death of that person's soul, the person 
starts its journey for Yamapuri, and it takes 17 days to reach there. For a further eleven 
months, the soul travels, and only in twelve months, it comes to the court of Yamaraj. At the 
period of eleven months soul has no access to food and water. So, it is stated that "Pinddaan" 
and" Tarpan" done by the family members satisfy the hunger and the thirst of the soul during 
the journey till it reaches the court of Yamaraj, and that is the reason Shradha rituals are 
considered very important during the first year of the death.
