Introduction
      The government of Chandrababu Naidu distributed a pack of Kirana containing –
red gram, jaggery, wheat flour, Bengal gram, palm oil, and ghee on the festive 
occasions. The idea behind the Chandranna Kanuka (which was named after the 
one who is 420 in AP) was to offer provisions to the underprivileged so that they 
could enjoy the festivities and celebrate happily. However, what most of us weren’t 
aware of is –the Chandranna Kanuka was a well-thought-out scam, which was an 
essential source of revenue generation for his ministers. 
      Here we will discuss with you how Babu, along with his diabolical Ministers, fed on 
the poor people. 
Guess who had the contract of 
Chandranna Kanuka distribution?
      Is that even a question to think about? Obviously, the entire contract 
of gift distribution was handed over to the TDP leaders. They made a 
handsome amount of money from this contract of supplying low-
standard food items to the poor of the state. The TDP government 
spent Rs 1600 crores of payment within four years. And guess what? 
More than half of the money went into the pockets of the corrupted 
minister of the TDP. In order to make money out of the Chandranna 
Kanuka, the party leaders decided to supply the poor with sub-
standard products of lesser quantity as compared to the amount that 
was declared.

       The jaggery given out was in liquid form and not in its original solid state. If we 
talk about quantities –instead of 500 gm of jaggery -455 gm were supplied. 
While 1 kg of wheat flour was listed, 950 gm of the flour was given to the poor. 
And these two were just examples of all the con activities conducted by the 
malicious government in the name of giving out gifts. Both the quantity and the 
quality of the products were compromised so that the TDP leaders could do 
business out of these provisions supplied to the poor.

Safety Certificate? What does that mean?
     On every packet of the items offered to the poor, the companies should 
publish the details of the components that have been used in the preparation 
of the food along with the date of packaging and details of the manufacturer. 
But, the packet of rations given out by the one who is 420 in AP had no such 
declarations. Instead, this scheme almost ended up being an irony that –
Babu’s government wanted the poor to celebrate with the poor quality of 
food offered.
