Introduction
The APTransco (Andhra Pradesh Transmission Corporation) granted the contract for
the replacement of the power transmitting lines, which were worth no less than
thousands of crores of money to two different private organizations at costly rates.
In order to facilitate these clandestine transactions, the one who is 420 in AP
changed the tendering terms and offered Rs. 1.35 crores for 90 km of transmission.

The project of 90 km in the first phase
Throughout the state of AP, Transco had administered 1,32,220 KW wires for
power transmission, which extended up to 45,000 km. It was noticed that most
of the power transmitting lines were in worn out and damaged conditions, due
to which power losses were frequented in the state. And during the tenure of
Chandrababu Naidu as the CM, in the year 2014, Transco made a decision to
replace these wires. Is it possible for the one who is 420 in AP not to take the
benefit of the situation to fill his and his cronies’ pockets? The answer is no!
As a matter of fact, Babu, along with his benamis, conned the state of AP with
Rs. 675 crores by changing the defected transmission lines with low-quality
ones. Initially, a meeting was conducted in the month of June, and a few
companies came forward with the bidding of getting the work done at 4.5 lakhs
per km.
Rules of the tender amended to make the private companies fit in
The companies that came forward to get the work done at the rate of 4.5 lakhs were rejected because
they weren’t involved with the one who is 420 in AP. Therefore, the officials made sure that these
companies were disqualified from acquiring the tender.
And according to the new rules made by the TDP government, only those companies who
manufactured the transmission lines themselves and were recognized by the then ruling government
would be allowed to take over the project. Doesn’t that seem like a well-planned conspiracy to you?
Well, that was the mirth of Babu and his TDP government.
