What is Wireless Charging?
• Wireless Charging is the way of Charging our
Phones Without Connecting any Cable.
• You just need to put your phone on Power
transmitting pad, Which transfer power to you
device.
• Now there are some phones with Wireless
charging Feature.
• iPhone X, iPhone 8 and Samsung Galaxy S8
support this feature.
What does Wireless
Charging Work?
• Wireless Charging work on Inductive Charging.
• Two coils create an electromagnetic field, By
passing an Electric Current, Power generated by
this process.
• Mobile devices have receiving magnetic plate,
Which comes into contact with transmitter or
with in specific Range then magnetic field
generates an electrical current into Phone.
• Current convert into DC(Direct Current) by
which phone Charges.
Standards Wireless
Charging?
• Qi is a Standard that has been developed by
WPC for inductive charging and range of Qi is
40mm.
• Powermat is also a standard, It was used by
some retailers like Starbucks but it was not
cross compatible.
• Powermat is working with WPC to develop new
technology.
• Qi has 3 Power Specifications:-
• Low Power Which deliver up to 5W use for
smart watches.
• Medium Power Which deliver up to 120W
use for Laptop, Monitors.
• High Power Which deliver up to 1KW use
for Kitchen utensils.
Wireless Charging Adapter
• Some phone has inbuilt technology but some
need an adapter.
• There are some products in the market like
Micro USB, Mini USB and USB-C.
• You have to put that thin plate at the back of
your phone and put your phone in regular case.
• Plate receives current from Qi Charging pad to
charge your phone.
Advantages Wireless
Charging?
• Simplest way to charge your phone just need to
drop your phone on charging pad rather than
find slot then put cable into it.
• Qi wireless charging pads easy to install and
you can easily charge your phone.
• Also good for you Charging port don’t put much
Strain.
Disadvantages Wireless
Charging?
• Wireless Charging is slower than Cable
Charging.
• If your phone is charging by cable, you can still
use your phone but if you are charging your
phone by Wireless charging pad then you can’t
use your phone.
• Adaptor and cases are expensive compare to
cable.
