Code, the National Flag is covered generally. The display of the national flag by the 
general public, private organisations, educational institutions, and other bodies is 
covered in Part II of the Code.
The national flag is flown by the federal and state governments, as well as their 
organisations and agencies, in accordance with Part III of the Code.
A law passed on January 26, 2002 established some guidelines for flying the flag. 
Here are a few of them:
❖ Do’s:
The National Flag may be flown in educational institutions (schools, colleges, 
sports camps, scout camps, and so on) in order to foster respect for the Flag. An 
oath of allegiance is now administered before flag raising in schools.
A member of the public, a private group, or an educational institution may hoist 
or display the National Flag on all days and occasions, whether formal or in 
another way respectful of the National Flag's honour and dignity.
The right to fly the flag on one's property is acknowledged in Section 2 of the 
new code.
❖ Don’ts:
The flag may not be worn, draped, or utilised for any collective purposes. No of the 
conditions, it should only be flown from sunrise to sunset.
The flag is not allowed to make touch with the floor, the water's surface, or the 
ground. The hood, top, sides or back of any car, train, boat or aeroplane may not be 
draped over.
No other flag or bunting may fly higher than the flag. Furthermore, nothing may be 
placed on or above the flag, including flowers, garlands, or insignia. A tricolour 
festoon, rosette, or bunting is prohibited.
