The working of an air compressor can be 
explained :
1. Intake of air: Air is drawn into the compressor via an intake valve. 
2. Compression: The air is then compressed by a piston, a rotating screw, 
or a centrifugal compressor, increasing the air pressure and reducing its 
volume. 
3. Cooling: After compression, the hot compressed air is cooled, typically 
by an aftercooler, to reduce its temperature and moisture content. 
4. Storage: The compressed air is stored in a pressure tank or receiver, 
ready for use.
