these mountains were originally covered by lava.
This salt was initially preserved by the Himalayan
people. It helped prevent their seafood and meat
from going bad for a long time.
Today, Himalayan salt is currently extracted from
salt mines in Pakistan that are close to the
Himalayan foothills. Hand labor is used to remove
it from the mines. Mining in this region is
rigorously controlled to protect the product's
quality.
