Registrations for US H-1B visas in FY 2024 
The beginning registration period for the H1B visa for fiscal year (FY) 2024 has been 
announced by United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). 
When H-1B Filing starts 2024? 
March 1, 2023: Beginning at noon Eastern on March 1 and closing at noon Eastern on 
March 17, 2023, the initial registration period for the fiscal year 2024 H-1B cap will begin. 
Prospective petitioners and representatives can fill out and submit their registrations 
utilising our online H-1B registration system at this time. 
For the FY 2024 H-1B cap, USCIS will give a confirmation number to each register. You 
cannot use this number to track your case status in Case Status; it is only used to track 
registrations. 
When Should I start applying for H-1B? 
The USCIS states that prospective H1B cap-subject petitioners or their representatives are 
required to electronically register each beneficiary for the selection process, pay the $10 
H1B registration fee associated with each registration, and submit the registration on behalf 
of each beneficiary using a myUSCIS online account. 
If enough people register by March 17, USCIS will randomly choose registrations and notify 
users via their myUSCIS online accounts of their selection. All registrations that were 
legitimately filed during the original registration period will be chosen if they do not acquire 
enough registrations. By March 31, USCIS plans to inform account holders. 
The daily credit card transaction cap has been temporarily increased by the U.S. 
Department of Treasury from $24,999.99 to $39,999.99 per day, for the H-1B cap season in 
FY 2024. The number of prior H-1B registrations exceeded the daily credit card limit, 
prompting this temporary increase. Before the initial H-1B registration period begins, more 
details will be given. 
 
Rates of H-1B petition approval 
The H-1B Visa programme enables businesses and other employers in the US to hire foreign 
employees on a temporary basis for jobs that call for the application of both theory and 
practise of a body of highly specialised knowledge and a bachelor's degree or higher in the 
relevant field, or its equivalent 
Architecture, engineering, mathematics, physical and social sciences, medical and health, 
education, business specialties, accounting, law, theology, and the arts are just a few 
examples of the specialty vocations that may fall under the H-1B visa category. 
Amazon, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Google, IBM, HCL America, and Microsoft were the 
companies with the most H1B petitions for first employment that were authorised in fiscal 
year 2021, with a total of 6,182 approvals (1,240). 
After USCIS made adjustments to the way it evaluates applications for workers operating at 
third-party locations, the overall refusal rate for H1B visas fell to 4% in 2021.
