Men and females both can face Parkinson’s Disease,
according to research PD affects about 50 percent more
men than women. Most important risk factor is “Age”.
The vast majority with Parkinson’s initially build up the
sickness at about age 60, around 5 to 10 percent of
individuals with Parkinson’s have “beginning stage”
illness, which starts before the age of 50. Beginning stage
types of Parkinson’s are frequently, yet not generally,
acquired, and a few structures have been connected to
specific gene mutations.
Causes of Parkinson’s Disease explained
by Anjum Khanna
Usually Parkinson’s disease occurs when nerve cells, or
neurons, in an area of the brain that controls movement
become impaired and/or die. Normally, these neurons
produce an important brain chemical which is known as
dopamine. When the neurons die or become impaired,
they produce less dopamine, which causes the movement
problems of the body. Also the Parkinson’s affected
patients lose the nerve endings that produce
norepinephrine, the main chemical messenger of the
sympathetic nervous system, which controls many
functions of the body, such as heart rate and blood
pressure and decreased movement of food through the
digestive tract, etc.
Symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease
Trembling in hands, arms, legs, jaw, or head
Stiffness of the limbs ( Both hand or legs) and trunk
lowness of movement
Impaired balance and coordination, sometimes leading
to falls
Emotional changes ( stress, depression)
