ELECTRIC CAR PROJECT
INTRODUCTION
 Apple is believed to be working on an electric vehicle project that it 
plans to launch a few years down the road. 
 The top-secret project is said to be in the works at a hidden lab 
named "SG5" in Sunnyvale, Calif. 
 Internally, the effort is believed to be known as "Project Titan" and 
may one day yield an "Apple Car."

 There has long been rumor about the fact that Apple is working 
aggressively on a series of various automotive developments that 
could potentially lead to a 'Apple Vehicle.'
 A variety of different components and developments have been 
defined by the term but fall into two particular categories: auto 
driving systems and car design.

 Although initial signs pointed to the establishment of a whole Apple 
vehicle, the headline "Apple Car," it was also confirmed by rumours 
that Apple had a change of focus. 
 One of them was the great concept of a whole vehicle and just the 
self-driving devices that took it away.

"APPLE CAR" DESIGN
 Initially, it was rumoured that "Project Titan" includes a powertrain 
known as "Apple Car," which was shipped in 2019 or 2020. 
 But by the end of 2015, the programme encountered "an incredible 
failure of leadership," according to one report where administrators 
were struggling for Titan.

WHO WOULD BUILD AN APPLE CAR?
 Although everyone is aware of Apple's prowess in the area of 
consumer electronics, the company has little experience with 
vehicles construction. 
 Apple is rumoured to already have been engaged in the 
development of BMW, Daimler,Jaguar Land Rover and Toyota 
automobiles, with Magna International, but it is not clear who will 
create Apple an EV at this stage.

COLLABORATION
 Apple may also opt to collaborate with an existing carmaker instead 
of producing and retailing a vehicle of its own, and share its 
autonomous driving and battery technologies under license.

TITAN STRATEGY 
 Mansfield unveiled the latest Titan strategy "in a Silicon Valley 
auditorium packed with hundreds of Titan employees," in May 
2016. 
 Mansfield claimed that, after an appraisal, Apple concluded that it 
was not going to be able to deal directly with the Tesla corporation 
that already had many Electric vehicles on the market.

MONITOR VENDORS
 Whilst Apple has been used to monitor vendors of devices like 
iPhones extensively, the firm may have noticed that auto parts 
producers were less keen to contribute to a "Apple Car," considering 
deeper costs and that Apple would actually produce cars in limited 
initial numbers.

"APPLE CAR" RELEASE SPECULATION
 The 2016 study indicated that Apple aimed at the 2020 
implementation, but concerns such as the resignation of Project 
Leader Steve Zadesky pushed the delay to 2021.
 At the time, it was unknown whether the first Apple attempt at a 
vehicle would have a certain amount of self-driving ability, but it 
was just until Apple began testing the device on public roads.
