• Brazil has the second highest number of 
confirmed COVID-19 cases in the world.
• The country has risen up the corona virus 
statistics and its death toll - 101,136 - is 
now the world's second highest.

• The dispute inside the government led to 
dismissal of  Health Minister, Nelson Teich.
• The world is facing  economic recession  
due to this COVID 19 pandemic.

• Brazil needs to be putting all its efforts into 
fighting the virus, the president has been 
doing nothing of the sort.
• Instead, he's been wrapped up in his own 
political battles.

expected once the outbreak of the novel 
corona virus began to spread.
• But the political crisis in Brazil is completely 
home-grown.

• Brazil president referred COVID-19 as a 
“little flu” and refused to comply with 
WHO guidelines.
• This ignorant behaviour lead towards 
delayed implementation of health 
measures.

• Government has been the target of critics 
regarding transparency of the number of 
confirmed COVID-19 cases and deaths. 
• In order to determine that the government 
must resume full disclosure of COVID-19 
cumulative data.
