The Taj Mahal is an enormous beautiful Palace. The
construction of Taj Mahal was begun in 1632 and
completed in 1643. Mughal emperor Shah Jahan dedicated
this beautiful monument to his beloved wife Mumtaz
Mahal. Taj Mahal was constructed in 20years period. From
the southern bank of the Yamuna River in Agra, the
famous complex is among the most eminent types of
Mughal architecture which combined Indian, Persian and
Islamic influences. Its made of whitecolored marble.
Designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1983, it
remains among the world’s most celebrated structures
along with a stunning indication of India’s wealthy history.

Shah Jahan was part of the
Mughal empire that ruled the
majority of northern India in the
early 16th towards the mid 18th
century. Following the dying of
his father, King Jahangir, in
1627. He married Mumtaj on 30th
April 1612.

Mumtaz Mahal was born on
27th April 1593 in Agra to a
family of Persian Nobility.
She was the daughter of
Abu'lHasan Asaf Khan. She
was married at the age of 19
on 30th April 1612 with Shah
Jahan. In 1631, Mumtaz
Mahal died.
Taj Mahal in recognition of Mumtaz Mahal, the mausoleum was
built of whitecolored marble inlaid with semiprecious gemstones
(including jade, very, lapis lazuli, amethyst, and turquoise).
Its central dome reaches a height of 240 ft (73 meters) and it is
encircled by four smaller sized domes four slender towers, or
minarets, was in the corners.
Within the mausoleum, an octagonal in shape marble chamber
adorned with carvings and semiprecious gemstones housed the
cenotaph, tomb of Mumtaz Mahal.

Based on one true love and sensational story, Shah
Jahan ordered to cut both hands of the Taj Mahal's
architect and the workers who made Taj Mahal. The
reason was “so that they could never build another
Taj Mahal.”
