INTRODUCTION
The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO)
will launch CMS-01 on Thursday the second
launch pad of Sriharikota's Satish Dhawan (SDSC).

PSLV-C50 MISSION
The PSLV-C50 mission, which will be opened at
15.41 p.m. with a payload only, offers
telephone services including tv, tele-
education, tele-medicine and assistance for
emergency relief.

MISSION DETAILS
A Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV)-C50
racket was taken off the satellite at 5:11am,
designated CMS-01.
It had entered the expected temporary orbit
about two decades after its flight, according to
ISRO officials in statement.

PASSENGER
It reached its intended temporary orbit about
20 minutes after launch, ISRO officials said in
a release. CMS-01 was the only passenger
aboard the rocket.

COVERAGE
The CMS-01 1,410 kg satellite offers the
facilities of both the Andaman Islands and the
Nicobar Islands, and even Lakshadweep, with
the extended C band of frequency range.
It would also have greater coverage across
the Indian continent.

CMS-01 to replace GSAT-12
telecommunication satellite
It would substitute the original orbital GSAT-
12 Telecommunication Satellite which was
deployed in 2011 and was worked past its
planned existence.
This satellite is formerly referred to as the
GSAT-12R. For the INSAT-3B satellite, GSAT-12
was itself a substitute.

CMS-01
CMS-01 is inserted into a higher
geosynchronous, highly elliptical orbit with a
nominal distance of nearby 42,164 km
(35,000 km/83 degrees), and is followed by
the settling of the last geostationar orbit.
In this orbit, the spacecraft rotates around
the Earth at the same speed as Earth rotation
and, when seen from Earth, appears fixed
within the sky.

MISSION LIFE
The mission life on the satellite is estimated
to be 7 years.
To fire the spacecraft, the PSLV launcher flies
with six strap-on boosters in its XL
configuration.

LAUNCH DATA
This is PSLV's 52nd and XL configuration's
22nd flight. This is also Sriharikota's 77th
launch.

GEOSYNCHRONOUS SATELLITE
LAUNCH
K. Sivan, President of ISRO, said before that
the project rocket would shortly be followed
by the launch of the EOS-02 Small satellite
launch vehicle (SSLV) from the ISRO, the
latest launch vehicle for small satellites
(Earth Observation Satellite).
It is anticipated that EOS-3 will accompany
the arrival of Geosynchronous Satellite
Launch Vehicle F10.
