INTRODUCTION
Qualcomm has unveiled its new ultrasonic
fingerprint sensor, which is much faster and has
a larger scanning area. The 3D Sonic Sensor
Gen 2 from Qualcomm is expected to make an
appearance in early 2021.

The new sensor may be used in upcoming

Qualcomm has not revealed new Android
phones that will come with recent technologies,

3D SONIC SENSOR
Qualcomm’s first-generation ultrasonic sensor
the 3D Sonic Sensor made its debut in the
Galaxy S10 lineup of phones in 2018.
At the time, nearly every other in-display reader
used an optical scanner, which was said to be
slower and less reliable than the new ultrasonic
one.

FLAGSHIP SMARTPHONES
The company didn't provide a concrete launch
date.
But nonetheless, it did mention that its first-
generation 3D Sonic Sensors were featured on
flagship smartphones including the Samsung
