INTRODUCTION
• Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries 
has announced that it is going to enter the 
5G segment in India.
• This was announced by the RIL’s chairman 
and managing director Mukesh Ambani at 
the 43rd Annual General Meeting (AGM).

5G SOLUTION
• Ambani announced that Jio was 
developing a home-grown 5G solution, 
that has been made in India from 
scratch. 
• This will enable Jio to launch a “world-
class 5G service in India”.

can be ready for field deployment next 
year.
•  Further, he assured that the up gradation 
from 4G to 5G will be easy.

INVESTMENT IN RELIANCE JIO
• Google has agreed to invest Rs 33,737 
crore to buy a 7.7 per cent stake in 
Reliance Industries.
• Facebook opened the investment cycle 
in Jio Platforms by picking 9.99 per 
cent stake for Rs 43,573.62 crore.
