Understanding Shuffleboard Rules
If you have growing interest in shuffleboard, you need to learn its rules. This game 
involves using paddles to shove pucks towards a target area.  There are many variants 
within this game, and it has alternative names such as shovel-board and deck 
shuffleboard. It has similarities to many other sports most notably bowls, curling and 
hockey. 
Understanding Shuffleboard Rules
The objective of this game is to simply use a paddle for propelling weighted pucks into 
the scoring zone so as to win points. When learning shuffleboard rules, you need to know 
the players and equipment involved in this game. This game can be played by either two 
players or four players. It is usually played on an outdoor court that is 52 feet long and 10 
feet wide, even though there are different dimensions on indoor as well as new portable 
courts.
Understanding Shuffleboard Rules
The shuffleboard court features scoring triangles at either end beyond which is a further 6 
feet for players to stand while playing towards the other end. The triangles are separated 
into point zones with 10 at the tip, closest to the players, and then 8, then 7, the latter 
two with a central division that creates a left and right area.

The cue, or tang, cannot be longer 6 foot 3 inch. The player that goes first uses yellow 
biscuits while the player that goes second uses black. So what do the shuffleboard rules 
say about scoring? Players usually alternate sending the biscuits in order to get as many 
scores as possible. Scores are normally counted only after all 8 pucks have been shot.

The puck must be wholly inside the scoring zone in order to register. If a puck is only 
touching the line, it does not count.
