Understanding Shuffleboard Rules
• If you are interested in playing shuffleboard, it will be a good idea to start with
familiarizing yourself with the shuffleboard rules. The objective of this game
is to score more points compared to your opponent by either knocking their
pucks off or by sliding your puck past your opponents into a higher score zone.
A typical shuffleboard game, whether partners or singles, is played up to 15
points.
Understanding Shuffleboard Rules
• Before the shuffleboard game begins, a coin toss has to be made in order to
determine who shoots first as well as who gets the hammer. The winner of the
game usually takes the hammer while the loser picks the color of the puck to
shoot.
Understanding Shuffleboard Rules
• The first player starts by shooting on of their colored pucks while the second
player shoots the other color. The players then rotate shots till all 8 pucks have
been shot. In case a puck does not cross the foul line that is closest to the
player who is shooting, it should be removed and the shot forfeited.
Understanding Shuffleboard Rules
• Once all of the 8 pucks have been shot, the players determine who scored by
counting only the pucks that are closest to end of the table and have the same
color. In case one player has more than one puck closer to the end of the table,
the opponent can also count his pucks.
Understanding Shuffleboard Rules
• Keep in mind that only a single color can score for every frame. In order to
receive points in a score zone, a puck should be completely inside that zone.
The player that scores in that frame should shoot first in the next frame. The
process is repeated until one player reaches fifteen points.
