How to cook Frozen Momos
Frozen momos can be cooked in 15 minutes right out of the freezer, no need
to defrost.
Using a steamer
Fill the base pan with water and bring it to a boil. Lightly oil a steamer
(using a bamboo steamer with greaseproof paper) and line up the frozen
thighs. When the water boils, place the tray on the steamer, cover it, and
steam for 15 minutes on high heat. (12 minutes for vegetarian momos). If
cooking multiple sheets at once, increase the steaming time or rearrange
the sheets. When it's steaming hot, serve it with dipping chili, and be
careful of the hot juice inside.
Without using a steamer
Steamed is best, but you can make soup thighs. Make your own soup base.
We usually sauté onions, salt, and meat bones and add water to make a
clear broth, but it's just as delicious as a vegetable broth substitute. Make
sure there is enough liquid for the peaches to dance, then pour in the frozen
peaches. Cook for about 10 to 12 minutes. All will float when done. Chop
some vegetables while cooking. Add cabbage, green onions, carrots,
spinach, or whatever you have in your fridge at the very last minute. Season
and serve.
Enjoy your meal!
