The State Bank of India (SBI), a leading Indian government-
owned bank, has released its official PO (Probationary Officer) 
recruitment for 2025.

Total Vacancies
A total of 541 vacancies have been announced, distributed as 
follows:
 General: 203
 OBC: 135
 SC: 80 (including 5 backlog)
 ST: 73 (including 36 backlog)
 EWS: 50
The recruitment shall also be providing horizontal 
reservations for PwBD belonging to different categories.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
A candidate needs to have only graduated from a recognized 
university in any course of study. Students in their last year can 
apply provisionally but will be required to provide graduation 
documents by the end of 30 September 2025.
Age Limit (as of 1st April 2025)
 Minimum: 21 years
 Maximum: 30 years
 Candidates must be born between 2nd April 1995 and 
1st April 2004(inclusive).
Age Relaxation
 SC/ST: 5 years
 OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
 PwBD: 10–15 years, depending on the category
Selection Process
The recruitment is conducted in three phases:
Phase I – Preliminary Examination
English Language: 30 Questions (20 minutes)
Quantitative Aptitude: 35 Questions (20 minutes)
Reasoning Ability: 35 Questions (20 minutes)
Total Marks: 100
Duration: 1 Hour
Note: There is a negative marking of 0.25 for each incorrect 
answer.
Phase II – Main Examination
Objective Test (200 marks – 3 hours)
 Reasoning & Computer Aptitude: 60 marks
 Data Analysis & Interpretation: 60 marks
 General/Economy/Banking Awareness: 60 marks
 English Language: 20 marks
Descriptive Test (50 marks – 30 minutes)
 Comprises Email Writing, Report Writing, and either 
Situation Analysis or Precis Writing
Phase III – Interview & Group Exercise
 Psychometric Test: For personality profiling (non-scoring)
 Group Exercise: 20 marks
 Interview: 30 marks
The final Merit List is prepared on the basis of normalized 
marks of the Main Examination (75 marks) and Interview & 
Group Exercise (25 marks).
Application Process
Aspirants need to apply only through the online method on 
the official website of SBI from the dates 24th of June to the 
14th of July 2025.
Offline applications will not be accepted.
Application Fee
 General/OBC/EWS: Rs.750
 SC/ST/PwBD: Nil
The payment must be made online through debit/credit 
card, net banking, or UPI.
Salary and Bond
 Starting Basic Pay: Rs. 48,480 with four advance 
increments
 Approximate CTC (Mumbai): Rs. 20.43 lakh per annum
 Probation Period: 2 years
Bond: Rs.2 lakh to serve for at least 3 years from the date
