Irbesartan Film Coated Tablets
• Irbesartan Tablets contain the active ingredient Irbesartan, which belongs to a class of
medicines called angiotensin-II receptor antagonists.
• Angiotensin-II is a natural substance that tightens blood
vessels, leading to increased blood pressure. Irbesartan
works by blocking this action, allowing blood vessels to
relax and lowering blood pressure.
• It also helps slow the progression of kidney damage in patients with high
blood pressure and type 2 diabetes. Irbesartan is used in adults to treat
essential hypertension and to protect kidney function in those with high
blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, and signs of impaired kidney function.
What you need to know before you take
