Loratadine Tablets 10mg – Once-Daily Relief for Hayfever & Allergies
                     Loratadine Tablets
• Loratadine Tablets is an antihistamine used to relieve allergy 
symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, and hives. The 
10 mg tablets, marketed as Brown & Burk Once-A-Day Hayfever & 
Allergy and EM Pharma Once-A-Day Hayfever & Allergy, are designed 
for once-daily use. They are suitable for adults and children over 2 
years of age who weigh more than 30 kg.
How to Take It
• Adults and children over 12 years: 1 tablet (10 mg) once daily.
• Children 2–12 years:
Body weight >30 kg: 1 tablet once daily
Body weight ≤30 kg: Use alternative 
formulations suitable for smaller children
• Severe liver impairment: 10 mg every other day
• Renal impairment & elderly: No dose adjustment needed
• Administration: Oral, can be taken with or without food.
Side Effects of Loratadine Tablets
Most people tolerate loratadine well, but some may experience:
• Somnolence (sleepiness): 1.2% • Increased appetite: 0.5%
• Headache: 0.6% • Insomnia: 0.1%
• Overdose symptoms: Somnolence, headache, or fast heartbeat. Medical 
attention should be sought immediately. Loratadine is not removed by dialysis.
Warnings & Precautions
• Avoid use in patients with severe liver impairment unless advised by 
a doctor.
• Contains lactose; not suitable for people with lactose intolerance or related 
conditions.
• Stop taking at least 48 hours before skin allergy tests, as it may interfere with 
results.
• Rarely, some people may experience drowsiness affecting driving or operating 
machinery.
