General laparoscopic surgery, also known as minimally invasive surgery or keyhole surgery, is a surgical technique that involves making small incisions in the abdomen through which a laparoscope (a thin, flexible tube with a camera and light source) and other surgical instruments are inserted. The laparoscope allows the surgeon to view the internal organs on a video monitor while performing the surgery.
