Common Black
College App
What's the Common Black College
Application?
• The Common Black College
Application lets students apply to
over 65 HBCUs.
• Over a quarter-million students
have used the Common Black
College App.
• About 97% of applicants receive
an admission offer from an HBCU.
• The Common Black College
Application takes as little as 10
minutes and costs $20.
What's the Process for the Common
Black College Application?
To apply to more than 65 HBCUs, you only need to complete one online
application.
The Common Black College App does not require you to upload your
transcripts, test results, or personal essays, in contrast to other
programmes that use a single application. Instead, the system
streamlines the procedure by requesting information from school
counsellors.
In order to submit their application, applicants must register on the
website, fill out the necessary information, and pay a single fee. The
HBCUs will then get your application and decide whether to accept you
and award you with scholarships.
What Distinguishes the Common Black
College Application from the Common
Application?
The Common Black College App was inspired by the Common App. Every year, more than
a million aspiring college students use the Common App to submit their college
applications. Fewer people apply to colleges using the Common Black College App. That is
only one of the variations between the two applications, though.
Quantity of Schools
Over 1,000 colleges and universities are members of the Common App, while the Common
Black College App is used by over 65 institutions. However, why is the Common App
accepted by more schools?
Application Method
The Common Black College App and the Common App have different application
procedures. Students must submit their transcripts, test results, extracurricular activities,
and an essay for the Common App.
Fees for applications
Different fees apply to the Common App and the Common Black College App. Although
there is no fee for the Common App, students frequently have to pay an application fee to
each college that receives their application. Thankfully, many universities don't impose any
fees.
