What is Ecofeminism

Ecofeminism is the combination of Feminist  and 
Ecology. Relationship between women and nature 
comes under Feminist.


Who Introduced this?

The term Ecofeminism is given by French Writer 
Francoise d’Eaubonne in her book..


Main Concept 

Ecofeminism is addressing all issues related to 
environment and women. Ecofeminism is about 
women empowerment. In villages many girls are 
doing home things instead of going school.


Some Examples of 
Ecofeminism in India


Langoti Village

In langoti Village Dalit women were facing 
problem of water. No one from village helped 
them because of cast problem So Dalit Women 
solved their problem by themselves. They build 
well near their homes with Hammers and other 
tools. 


Piplantri Village

In Piplantri Village 111 trees are planted on the girl 
child birth, Sarpanch Shyam Sundar Paliwal 
stated this when he lost her girl child at a very 
young age. These trees represent birth of a girl 
child. Villagers also want their girls financially 
strong so they donate some money for every girl 
and educate them.


Navdanya

Navdanya is a Ngo which is Founded by Vandana 
Shiva. This Ngo is mainly for protecting biological 
and Cultural diversity with the help of women. This 
Ngo works as “Mahila Anna Swaraj”.


Shruti Nerkar

Shruti invented a shower which saves water. 
Shruti is 12 year old and her father is professor of 
electronic in Gov. colleague. Normally Person use 
80 liters of water while this shower uses 15 liter of 
water.
