issued by a bank on behalf of the 
importer’s company and in favor of their 
exporter to conclude their trade 
transaction.
Standby LC proves the buyer’s 
creditworthiness and payment strength. 
Standby LC is often used in local & 
international transactions for buying 
different products.

Standby  Letter  of  Crediit  
Process
1. The client submit their trade finance requirement to 
BWT in terms of pro forma invoice or sales & 
purchase agreement. 
2. BWT carefully study their trade deals to find out 
whether they are eligible or not. 
3. If they are eligible, BWT sign a service agreement 
with the client & ask them to pay the admin charges 
to proceed further. 
4. Once the admin charges are paid & required 
document are provided, we will start working on 
their transaction. 
5. We will then send the SBLC draft for their review. 
And also, inform them about the issuance fee 
charges. 
6. Once the draft is approved & issuance fee charges 
are paid, we will request our bank to issue the 
required SBLC on behalf of the buyer to the 
supplier’s bank via authenticated Swift MT760.
