STEP 1:
APPROVAL OF BOTH THE PARTIES
Both the parties should freely consent to the marriage.
A premarital medical certificate for future spouses should be produced. The medical screening
provides the medical status of both parties. This kind of certificate normally mentions that the
persons looking to get married do not suffer from any diseases. This certificate is issued from
any public health care facilities in Dubai.
Parties should meet the prescribed age to get married as per law. Both parties should be
mature enough to understand the legal implications of marriage.
At least one of the parties to the marriage should have valid permission to stay within the
country.

STEP 2 :
ATTENDANCE OF THE COUPLE
Both the couple is required to be present on the scheduled date of marriage.
Presence of the bride’s father or his proxy is required.: For a woman to get married, she needs
the consent of her guardian. In case if the father of the bride is dead, the presence of the next
closest male guardian (closest kin such as a brother, uncle or cousin) is required.
No objection letter: If the bride is Muslim and her father is not, she needs a ‘No Objection’
letter from the relevant authority.
STEP 3:
REGISTRATION
Marriage contract needs to be registered for
initiating a marriage in UAE. Marriage Islam

apply in the following cases where either one
or both parties are Muslim, regardless of the
nationality
Where the bride and groom are Muslim
Where the groom is a Muslim and bride
are a non-Muslim

has to submit a valid proof of conversion.
