Hand Block Printing
Block printing is a printing method that
involves pressing and stamping fabric with
coloured, carved wooden blocks. The terms
"hand blocked" and "hand block printing" are
also used to describe block printing. We
honour the craft of fabric block printing.
Natural Colours
Vegetable dyes like indigo/dabu (a
combination of mud resist dabu and indigo
dip dyeing processes), harda (which is a
yellow base colour), and others are
traditionally used in bagru block printing.
Natural colors used in bagru print gives it an
Indian touch and makes it look different.
Cotton Fabric
The fibres that cover cotton plant seeds,
which emerge in a rounded, fluffy structure
once the seeds are grown, are used to make
cotton fabric. The Mehrgarh and Rakhigarhi
sites in India, which date to roughly 5000 BC,
include the earliest indications of the usage of
cotton fibres in textiles.
Wooden block designs
Block printing, also known as relief printing, is
the process of engrave patterns, shapes, and
designs into a 'block'. The wooden block is
used to create the Bagru print on cotton
faric. This is very old method to make printed
cloathes also we can call it "traditional
method".
