In 1996 Google began as a research project by Larry Page and Sergey 
Brin when they were both PhD students at Stanford University, 
California.
Google.com was registered on 15 September, 1997 and the company 
incorporated on 4 September,1998.
In 1998 they launched Google home page.

History


In 2000, Google AdWords launched with 350 advertisers. Today, more 
than 1 million advertisers generate tens of billions in revenue for the 
company.
Google Images introduced on July 12, 2001. That allows users to 
search the Web for images.
A beta version of Google news was launched in 2002 and released 
officially in January 2006.
Gmail started as a limited beta release on April 1, 2004.
In February 2005 Google maps was launched.
In 2006 Google bought the YouTube for US$1.65 billion. Now YouTube 
operates as one of Google's subsidiaries.
In 2008, Google introduced their own web browser - Google Chrome. 
Google launched the social networking site Google+ in June 28, 2011.
