BHAGAT SINGH
Shaheed Bhagat Singh is known as Shaheed-e-Azam.
His slogan of ‘Inquilab Zindabad’ is very popular and
shows a great effect on the youth. Bhagat Singh was
from Punjab and studied in D.A.V. College, Lahore
where Lala Lajpat Rai was a teacher. In class nine only
he became a member of the Non-Cooperation
Movement. In 1925, he initiated the youth with the
organization named as the Naujawan Bharat Sabha. In
1928, Bhagat Singh was an active member of the
Hindustan Socialist Republican Army. Bhagat Singh
exploded bombs within the Central Legislative Assembly,
in 1929. He was hanged with two friends on 23rd March
1931.

SUKHDEV
Sukhdev Thapar was from Ludhiana’s
Naughara Mohalla. He was grown up by
his uncle Lala Achintram after his father’s
death. He was very youthful student at
Lahore’s National College, he began to
explore his studies in “India’s past” and “the
newest movements happening all over the
world.” He met Lala Lajpat Rai, in the college
and then met Bhagat Singh also. He was
hanged on 23rd March 1931.

RAJGURU
Shivaram Hari Rajguru was born in middle-
class family at Khed in Pune district of
Maharashtra. Like Sukhdev, he too was grown
up in witnessing the injustice and exploitation of
Britisher’s. These kinds of experience made him
powerful and he participated to fight for India’s
freedom. Chandrashekhar Azad’s words,
courage, and love for India made Rajguru's
interest and then he became a member of the
Hindustan Socialist Republican Army (HSRA).

23rd March - Martyr's Day
23rd March 1931 was the day in which Bhagat Singh,
Rajguru, and Sukhdev achieved Martyrdom. They
were hanged for the reason that they were trying to
overthrow the Britisher’s rule in India. Sardar Bhagat
Singh, Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev are still alive in
hearts and remembered. This 23 March is the 86th
anniversary of the martyrdom of the three legend
revolutionaries, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev.
