Denise M. Juneau is a passionate 
educator and leader who earned her 
Master’s in Education from the Harvard 
Graduate School of Education and began 
her career as a classroom teacher in 
1995. 
Superintendent of Public Instruction in 
Montana
 Through her dedication Denise Juneau 
earned the position of State 
Superintendent of Public Instruction in 
Montana and, the next year, 
Superintendent of Seattle Public Schools 
in Seattle, Washington. 
 Tribal Community Activist
Ms. Denise Juneau is a tribal community 
activist and legal representative, public 
speaker, writer, university lecturer, 
educator, Montana State Bar attorney, 
House of Representatives Candidate, 
elected state and local public school 
administrator.  
Master of Education
Ms. Juneau earned a Master of Education 
from Harvard University and a Juris Doctor 
from The University of Montana School of 
Law. Ms. Juneau is the epitome of what it 
means to take control of one’s career and 
positively influence others along the way.  
Director of Indian Education
Ms. Juneau’s most notable roles include 
her Superintendent position with Seattle 
Public School System, Director of Indian 
Education, and elected Superintendent in 
the State of Montana’s Office of Public 
Instruction – State Education Agency.
