What is CNG?

• Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).
• People are using CNG on the place of Petrol, Diesel and 

LPG.
• All Natural Gas are lighter than air and when we release 

them they disperse quickly.
• CNG mainly composed of methane, CH4.
• CNG distribuated at pressure of 20–25 Mpa and it stored in 

cylindrical or spherical shapes hard containers.


Advantages Of CNG?

• CNG is cheaper than other gasoline.
• CNG is eco-friendly.
• CNG also good for vehicles, It increase mileage and 

good for engines.
• CNG System are preventing from loses of spills.
• CNG has higher Octane level.


Disadvantages Of CNG?

• According to IIT Mumbai conference, CNG has Radio 
Active Element Which causes many diseases like lung 
Cancer. 

• When installing CNG cylinder in your vehicles, it needs 
more spaces.

• Filling Stations are limited.

CNG Good For Environment Or Not?

• According to The Hindu report, State Gov. told Gujarat High 
Court  that CNG would Prove Harmful than other fuel.

• Engines which have CNG, emit more greenhouses gases. 

‘CNG vehicles emit 20% more greenhouse gases per mile compared 
to diesel vehicles’

Conclusion

We can’t exactly say that CNG is Good Or not because It 
has Advantages as well as disadvantages. According to 
some study it is good or according to some it bad. 
People are not using CNG in their vehicles because there 
may be chances of leakage and explosion.
