The Red Fort
The Red Fort also called as the Lal Quila it one of
the most significant historical buildings in India.
It was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan,
between 1639 to 1648 in Delhi, India. The thick
red sandstone is used in the making of the Red
Fort, that makes the fort look painted as red and
hence it got its name the Red Fort. The Red Fort
also has some other important buildings within it,
like the mosques Moti Masjid, DiwaniAam etc. A
museum has also been created inside it named as
Indian war memorial museum. The Indian Prime
Minister addresses the country and raises the flag
of India on the Republic and Independence day of
India.

Gwalior fort
The beautiful Gwalior Fort is located in Madhya Pradesh.
Rana Man Singh Tomar had built it in the 18th century. The
Gwalior fort is based on the wonderful ancient Indian
architecture. It fort has many magnificent structures inside
it, one of which is the famous SasBahu temple. The Sas
Bahu temple is one of the biggest forts in India. The Indian
government has also issued a postage stamp for its
remembrance. Along with the SasBahu temple, it also has
the majestic Man Mandir Palace, Hathi Pol, Karn Mahal and
Chhatri of Bhim Singh Rana, etc. It also turned an old
palace into a museum, name as Gujari Mahal.

Golkonda fort
Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, is also famous for its
ancient Indian architecture. The Golconda fort is such
architecture that is based in Hyderabad initially known as
Mankal. The Kakatiya kings had built the fort in late
1600. The fort was built mainly for defence and is known
for its military architecture having massive battlements
surrounding it and a grand structure. The height of the
fort is 120 meters and is built on a granite hill. Golkonda
also became famous the diamonds mine found at Kollur
near Kollur lake and once the fort was used to store the
famous Kohinoor. The fort is also among the Seven
Wonders of Hyderabad

Jaisalmer fort
The famous Jaisalmer Fort is located in Rajasthan. Rajput
Rawal Jaisal, the then ruler of Jaisalmer, built the fort in
1155 AD. It is considered as the only fort where the people
still live in. Jaisalmer fort is also known as Sonar Quila and
“Golden Fort, as it is constructed with the yellow sand. The
fort is situated in between of the Thar Desert. It is the
second oldest fort of Rajasthan counted. The Jain temples,
Royal Palace, Havelis, palace, lakes and big gates are the
main attraction. With the time and increasing population,
the fort has been facing many damages. So it is being

Red fort : Agra
With a great influence of Mughals on the Indian
Architectures, the Agra's Red Fort is also one of the most
important forts in India. It is about 2Km far from the Taj
Mahal. Created by the Mughals, it has an Islamic
architecture and was the main residence of the Mughals in
Agra. The Agra's Red Fort has been declared as the
UNESCO World Heritage site. Like Tajmahal, it is also
situated on the bank of the river Yamuna.

Kangra fort
Royals from the Katoch Dynasty had built the famous Kangra
fort, also having the traces of Trigarta Kingdom. It is the
oldest and the biggest fort of Himalayas, situated in the
Kangra valley of Himachal Pradesh, at the conjunction of
Banganga and Manjhi rivers. The most valuable monuments
in the Kangra Fort are Ambika Mata temple, Ranjit Singh
gate, Hammam, Ahini Gate and the Vajreshwari temple. It
also has a museum called as the Maharaja Sansar Chand
Katoch Museum that has the traces of the Kangra's royal

Chittorgarh fort
Chittorgarh Fort is known for its grand reputation and
largest structure in India. It is was the capital of Mewar
and was initially controlled by the Mewar kings. The fort
is also known as the Water Fort, as it used to have 84
water bodies inside, among which over 22 are still
existent. This 691.9 acres, large testimony is the symbol
of the bravery of Maharana Pratap Singh and the other
great Rajput rulers of Rajasthan. This majestic fort hosts
the biggest Rajput festival called the “Jauhar Mela” every
year. The major attractions of the Chittorgarh Fort are
Gaumukh reservoir, Vijay Stambha and Rana Kumbha

Panhala fort
Panhala fort is one of the most significant forts in
India. The fort is situated in Kolhapur Maharashtra,
over a pass in the Sahyadri mountain range. It is
within the main trade route from Bijapur, which makes
it the centre of several battles between groups. The
fort's structure is a symbol of great Maratha Empire.
Purandhar Fort is also famous for tracking. Andhar
Bavadi, Kalavanticha Mahal, Ambarkhana, Dharma
Kothi, Sajja Kothi, Teen Darwaza, Wagh Darwaza are
among the most significant parts of the Panhala fort.

Srirangapatnam fort
One of the most famous for of Karnataka is located near to
the holy river Kaveri. It was built in 1454, by the ruler of
Chitradurga, Timmanna Nayaka. Tipu Sultan brought the
fort into prominence and it was modified with the help of
French architects. The fort was fortified for the invaders,
but, in 1799, it was demolished by the Britishers. The fort
has the Tipu palace and the Lal Mahal. The famous
monuments of the Srirangpatna fort are Daria Daulat Bagh,
Gumbaj containing the tomb of Tipu Sultan, Juma Masjid,
Obelisk monuments.
