Government Working On Giving Shape To New Air Defence Command By October

GOVERNMENT WORKING ON GIVING SHAPE TO NEW AIR DEFENCE COMMAND BY OCTOBER INTRODUCTION • The Ministry of Defence is likely to announce in October that a new air defence command will be formed under the broad concept of convergence between the three services. Source: The Economic Times FOCUS • Earlier this year, a high-level committee was formed to define contours of the new air defence command, with an emphasis on ensuring that the three services are united. Source: The Economic Times REDESIGN • The initiative was part of Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin Rawat's mandate to redesign all existing military commands to help them effectively deal with all future security challenges.
