WHAT IS A HEADACHE?
A headache is pain or discomfort in the head, scalp, or neck. It
can be mild or severe but usually doesn’t come with other
disabling symptoms. Headaches are extremely common and can
be triggered by stress, dehydration, lack of sleep, or excessive
screen time.
You may feel a dull ache, tightness, or pressure around the
forehead, temples, or back of the head. The pain usually lasts
from 30 minutes to a few hours and typically improves with rest,
hydration, or over-the-counter pain relievers.
WHAT IS A MIGRAINE?
A migraine is a neurological condition, not just a
headache. It involves changes in brain activity, blood flow,
and nerve function. Migraine pain is often severe,
pulsating, and usually affects one side of the head.
It’s commonly accompanied by nausea, vomiting, light
sensitivity (photophobia), and sound sensitivity
(phonophobia). Migraines can last anywhere from 4 to 72
hours, and even after the pain subsides, you may feel
drained or mentally foggy.
