How Hypertension is related to heart disease & what is
the impact of hypertension on the heart?
Chronic high blood pressure higher than 120/80mmhg causes hypertensive heart disease. As
people get older they are prone to get heart diseases with the increase in age. Heart failure
occurs most often in people who are older than 65. Hypertension heart disease refers to a
heart condition caused by blood pressure. Heart working under pressure causes some
serious heart problems or heart disorders.
Hypertensive heart disease includes heart failure, thickening of heart muscles, coronary
artery disease, and other heart problems. Hypertensive heart disease can cause serious
health problems that can even lead to death. As the physiology of blood pressure, blood
pressure force originates in the pumping action of the heart exerted by the wall of blood
vessels again. The stretching of the vessels in response to this force and their subsequent
contraction are important in maintaining blood flow through the vascular system.
High blood pressure can damage your arteries by making your arteries less elastic that
decreasing the flow of blood and oxygen to your heart and leading to heart disease..
Types of hypertensive heart disease
include the narrowing of arteries.
That is when high blood pressure
narrows the artery blood flow to the
heart can slow or stop this condition
known as “Coronary Heart Disease”.
Another problem is the thickening
and enlargement of the heart as high
blood pressure makes it difficult for
your heart to pump blood regularly
hard work makes heart muscle
thicken and grow alters heart
function, this condition is known as
“Left Ventricular Hypertrophy”. Both
of these conditions (Coronary Heart
Disease & Left Ventricular
Hypertrophy) can lead to secondary
conditions like heart failure,
arrhythmia, ischemia heart disease,
heart attack, sudden cardiac attack,
and stroke.
Some common Impact of
Hypertension on the heart is high
blood pressure can damage your
arteries by making them less
elastic, which decreases the flow
of blood and oxygen to your heart
and lead to heart disease in
addition decrease in blood flow to
the heart can cause chest pain
also called angina.
There are many complications
caused by hypertension that can
even lead to death. Treatment
should be taken in a timely as a
problem related to circulation has
its complications. Professional
guidance is an important aspect
of conditions like hypertension.
